Since its inception in 2005, Anjunadeep has been a tastemaker among the deeper corners of the electronic music spectrum. The London-based imprint evolved out of necessity as a vehicle for the deep house and progressive releases that didn’t quite suit parent label Anjunabeats’ strictly trance roster. News of a North American tour this winter–the label’s first–was accompanied by a well rounded lineup and an ultra selective handful of dates at intimate venues.  Last week, the tour hit Brooklyn’s Verboten for a lushly nuanced audiovisual presentation featuring sets by Vincenzo, Mir Omar, Martin Roth, Lane 8, Jody Wisternoff, and Beckwith. We sent DMNDR’s resident electronic music expert Alexandra Blair to chronicle Anjunadeep’s foray into the fringes of today’s deepest house.
