Ingrid Michaelson’s set at The Ace Hotel started a little slowly, but by the second song the crowd was up on their feet and the folk pop blended with breezy jazz that Michaelson does so well kept everyone thoroughly engaged. She has a very distinctive charisma and charmingly funky style that compliments her music. She isn’t the most active performer, staying mostly in one spot while she sings, but her quirky sense of humor in between songs and the clearly genuine joy that her music brings her is infectious. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing another one of her shows and getting to capture more of her and her magnetic presence.
