Walker Lukens and The Side Arms headlined Portland’s Bunk Bar with the opening bands Maurice and The Stiff Sisters and The Toads.  On tour to support his new CD release “Tell It To The Judge”, Lukens turned heads and commanded the attention of the crowd with his unusual musical mix of melody, techno, electronica, synth, blues, balladeering and Texas flavor. Lukens’ show stole the night with polish and the unmistakable sound that is “Touring Tight”. Both musically and with interaction with the crowd, this was a professional musical performance in all respects. The band’s music, sound, groove and flow very much brought to this observer’s mind Tame Impala. Elements of Prince and ZZ Top all mixed to create a smooth, rolling, grinding flow. Quirky sound and vocal elements simply drew in and inhaled the crowd. They  became fascinated with the creative and successful blending of such diverse musical and sonic elements. “Tell It To The Judge” is Lukens’ second CD release along with two Ep’s. He has been playing major festivals such as Boonaroo, Austin City Limits Festival and the Free Press Summerfest along with frequent touring. He is based in Austin, Texas and grew up in Houston.
