Alexa Wilding is no stranger to the Rockwood Stage, but last night’s show was a special one as she celebrated the release of her new EP Wolves. It was most definitely her party and she lit up the stage with her infectious smile, surrounded by a room full of friends. Her voice was smooth and velvety as her band joined in with their dreamy harmonies. Her sound is sprinkled with a bit of an old folk-country flare; I felt as if I was traveling on an old train out west. Some of her standout tracks were “Road Song” and the ethereal “Durga”, as well as her haunting cover of Springsteen’s ‘I’m On Fire’. I can’t wait to hear more from Alexa!
